Preventive Dental Care in Boise, Idaho

Why You Need Preventive Dental Care

There are three main reasons why individuals choose to pursue cosmetic dentistry and smile makeovers:

Preventive Dental Care

Prevention is a key component of your overall dental health. At Green Tree Dental, Dr. Hess, Dr. Laos and our team provide general dental care that includes complete preventive care. We do all we can to help you avoid problems with your smile in the future.

General Dentistry

As part of our commitment to providing complete family dentistry, we offer an array of general dental treatments to our patients.

Routine Exams & Cleanings

We recommend you come in approximately every six months for an exam and cleaning. This allows us to check for any signs of decay or other issues.

Digital X-rays

We use X-rays to detect decay and issues with the roots of teeth or the jawbone. If we notice any issues, we can begin planning your treatment right away.

Dental sealants cover chewing surfaces, particularly the molars, and keep food particles from sticking there and causing bacteria to grow. We often place sealants on children’s teeth, but they can be helpful at any age.

Fluoride Treatments

Regular fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and fight off plaque build-up, so we recommend them for adults and children.

General Dentistry FAQs

How often should I visit the dentist for preventive care?

It is generally recommended to visit the dentist for a routine check-up and cleaning every six months. However, your dentist may suggest more frequent visits based on your individual oral health needs. What can I expect during a routine dental check-up?
A routine dental check-up typically includes a thorough examination of your teeth and gums, X-rays if necessary, oral cancer screening, and professional cleaning by a dental hygienist.
Many dental insurance plans cover preventive dental care, including routine check-ups, cleanings, and X-rays. However, coverage may vary, so it’s essential to check with your insurance provider.
Maintaining good oral hygiene involves brushing your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing daily, and using mouthwash. Your dentist can provide specific instructions based on your oral health needs.
Yes, dental X-rays are considered safe, as they emit minimal radiation. Dentists take precautions to minimize radiation exposure, such as using lead aprons and modern digital X-ray technology.
Yes, preventive dental care plays a crucial role in cavity prevention. Regular dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants can help protect your teeth from decay and minimize the risk of cavities.
Encourage good oral hygiene habits in children, including proper brushing and flossing techniques. Limit sugary foods and drinks, encourage a balanced diet, and schedule regular dental check-ups for your child.
Dental sealants are thin, protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of back teeth. They help prevent cavities by sealing out bacteria and food particles from the deep grooves and pits of the teeth.
Yes, regular dental cleanings, proper oral hygiene, and professional gum disease evaluations can help prevent gum disease. Early detection and treatment are crucial for maintaining healthy gums.

Good oral health is linked to overall well-being. Preventive dental care helps prevent oral infections, reduces the risk of systemic health issues related to poor oral health, and promotes a healthy mouth and body.

Smile Gallery

Even if you don't, having an attractive smile you love enough to admire as best as you can every time you have the opportunity suggests that there might be just one life that's a lot more fun with teeth that you are content to admire.

First and foremost, Dr. Laos is an artist of the highest degree. I’m scheduled to get new crowns to improve my smile and he’s not only looked at the color but the shape each tooth should be and so much more. I’ve never felt so confident in a cosmetic/plastic surgeon/dentist and I’ve seen too many to count here in Boise and the DC area. If you’re contemplating doing anything cosmetic with your smile, he and his team are the ones to trust.

I don’t write reviews often, but these guys went above and beyond. Dentists are notorious for trying to squeeze money out of you. This is not the case with this company. Everyone from the front desk ladies, to the wonderful lady who cleaned teeth, to the dentist were all very polite, kind, and professional. They all demonstrated an incredible level of knowledge in their trades and engaged in conversation. They cleaned and checked my teeth in a timely manner, and I left without them saying I needed to do a million things to my teeth. I keep my teeth in good condition, and left without any fillings needed to be done. These guys are awesome and perhaps more importantly honest, which is so hard to find these days. Thank you guys. You guys have my loyalty and trust.
